Rocky Mountain National Park
August 21, 2024
We started at the Alluvial Fan and hiked up to see the water fall. We then took a drive over to Bear Lake Road and stopped at the Moraine Park Discovery Center. We took the short hike behind the center to look for a variety of bird species. Then, we continued on to Bear Lake and hiked around the lake. It started raining during our hike and it felt so refreshing! We encountered an adorable warbling vireo on the trail too! After Bear Lake, we made our way to Sprague Lake, where we enjoyed a picnic dinner under moody skies. Then, as we finished up dinner, the sun started to come out and was shining brightly against the dark gray sky. A rainbow appeared as we walked around the lake. The clouds looked incredible! We didn’t get to see any moose, but we sure enjoyed beautiful weather and lovely hikes. I hope you’ll join me at the next event!

Steller's Jay hoping we'll share our picnic!
