Join me for a high mountain hike and wildlife viewing excursion at the gorgeous Brainard Lake Recreation Area! The reservation is set and you will not need a reservation or parks pass.
For this excursion, we will be hiking the Long Lake trail, and possibly beyond the lake towards Lake Isabelle - if time allows. The Brainard Lake area sits at 10,000 ft elevation. The Long Lake hike is relatively flat all the way around, with some elevation gain. If we proceed to Lake Isabelle, there is a bit more of an elevation gain, with some steep areas and rocky parts. You should plan on at least 3 miles, and up to 6 if we add Lake Isabelle.
This area is known for exquisite views and huge moose! Hopefully, we’ll see one!
After everyone signs up, we will determine a meeting place and carpool up to the area.
