Public Bird Banding sessions are open! Starting April 25 @ 7 am, join Denver Audubon for a number of sessions to watch bird banding in action! Partnering with Bird Conservancy of the Rockies and Denver Water, the bird banding sessions are held in a special location at the Kingery Nature Center on the south end of Chatfield State Park. The sessions are about 1 hour and are held in the morning when bird activity is highest. You can enjoy an intimate session, watching the bird banding in action, learning about the birds that migrate to and through Colorado, and maybe even get to hold and release a bird! These sessions are incredible and I highly recommend doing this at least once in your life! If you’ve done it before, it’s always a treat to do it again and see what birds end up being banded!
The Denver Audubon mission is this:
“Inspiring actions that protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through education, conservation, and research.”
