Bird Conservancy of the Rockies Spring Bird Banding

  • Pineridge Natural Area 2750 County Road 42C Fort Collins, CO, 80526 United States (map)

Public Bird Banding sessions are open! Starting April 26 @ 7:30 am, join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies for a number of sessions to watch bird banding in action! Sessions are held in Fort Collins at the Pineridge Natural Area near Horsetooth Reservoir. The sessions are about 1 hour and are held in the morning when bird activity is highest. You can enjoy an intimate session, watching the bird banding in action, learning about the birds that migrate to and through Colorado, and maybe even get to hold and release a bird! These sessions are incredible and I highly recommend doing this at least once in your life! If you’ve done it before, it’s always a treat to do it again and see what birds end up being banded!

The Bird Conservancy of the Rockies mission is this:

“Our mission at Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is the conservation of birds and their habitats through an integrated approach of science, education and land stewardship.”

Additional sessions will open in the late summer/early fall as well!
