March 16, 2025 - we enjoyed a morning outing with Denver Audubon to walk along the Bear Creek Greenbelt in Lakewood. It was a beautiful day, and the birds are really ramping up their activities - busily establishing territories, feeding, building nests, and chattering away. It’s truly magical to hear the world alive with bird sounds! After finding 28 species along the Bear Creek Greenbelt, we went to Golden to try to find the rare Varied Thrush that has been spotted the last several weeks, along with the Winter Wren that has been hanging out in the same general area. While we didn’t find the Varied Thrush, we did see the Winter Wren, and I was able to add another lifer to my bird list for 2025! I’m up to 11 species so far, only 139 more to go! Please enjoy some photos and videos from the busy day of birding we had!
