Looking for a Monster!
It’s not as scary as it sounds! Over the weekend, Don and I went out to see if we could FINALLY find the biggest buck of the Denver area. He has evaded me for over two years. Meanwhile, I’ve been having serious FOMO every time someone else posted a photo of him. He is incredible! He has a really unique double-beam on his left side, and his thick antlers have all sorts of twists and turns. It is not unusual to see some big-antlered bucks in Denver, since they live in a protected space at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. I’ll have to post a throwback photo gallery of some of the awesome bucks I’ve seen over the years. For now, please enjoy this gallery from our adventure yesterday, when we did FINALLY see the monster buck of the moment!

A handsome white-tail buck
A doe was just ahead of him, and she started running
Another white-tail buck with a coyote
Lots of coyotes out, this pack of 3 was entertaining to watch hunt
They are so perfectly suited to their environment
Just beautiful
Red-tailed hawk
Ferruginous hawk sharing the same tree as the red-tail
THERE HE IS, the biggest buck on the block
I love this image with the sun in his eye, it's taken me over 2 years to finally find him
His rack is so dynamic from every angle
He even looks good walking away
I just wish he was facing me here, the lighting was perfect
Meanwhile, a nice buck and his little family with scenic views of the front range
Found him again! I love a good backlit buck
Golden hour is my favorite time of day to take photos
He's so awesome
Love the soft colors here
Sunset was so pretty, this Common Goldeneye was enjoying it
Look at those colors!
I love a nice lake reflection
Made even better with cool and colorful clouds
Wow!
