Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge

This small wildlife refuge is in the middle of suburbia, but feels a world away. At only 75 acres, it is a cozy place to unwind and enjoy a plethora of flora and fauna. While I was there, I enjoyed walking a couple different loops, taking in the birds and (literal) bees. There were SO MANY BEES! It was fun to watch them gathering pollen and buzzing around. I also found a number of birds moving around through the different habitats, from prairie grass to deciduous trees, fruit shrubs to cattails. I encourage you to visit. The area I visited is open May through September, and the west side of the refuge is open year-round. Get more information about this space here. Enjoy the photos!
